In early September of 2007, I had the idea to take a traditional shot of the "usual suspects" Disney Princesses (see [link]) and replace them with (or cast them as) heroines from some of my favourite Broadway shows--some newer/older or less popular than others. I have been a huge Disney fan since childhood, and really admire the dA artists who emulate the classic style; I was anxious to try my hand at it. Each girl was hand drawn in line and scanned in to be cleaned up and coloured in PhotoShop individually. Here they were layered in over a nauseating (but "Princess"-y) shade of pink. There are some proportion issues (mostly in unsourced body parts, eep!), but they're pretty tolerable.
Left to right: Wendla Bergmann (Ariel), Christine Daaé (Belle), Mimi Marquez (Jasmine), Clara Johnson (Cinderella, with a touch of Alice), Kate Monster (Snow White), and Eponine Thénardier (Aurora).
Please see each individual character for disclaimer, detail, and whatever else:

I will not be portraying any character Wicked, or any musical character that was originally Disney to begin with. And in case you were wondering, Kate is my personal favourite.
I can definitely see who you based them off of, but you added more personality to all the characters. Great job!

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
