Mama who bore me,
Mama who gave me No way to handle things, Who made me so sad. Mama, the weeping, Mama, the angels, No sleep in Heaven or Bethlehem ... The second "Princess" in my Disney-Style Broadway Princess Pantheon, Wendla Bergmann of Spring Awakening, is based on Ariel of The Little Mermaid. Both youthful, vivacious, slightly rebellious characters. The lace hem of her frock here is a mistake. You may notice that I deleted it from the final "Broadway Princesses" image. PSA: This is Wendla from Stephen Sater and Duncan Sheik's 2006 musical, Spring Awakening. Based on Frank Wederkind's 1891 symbolist/expressionist play, the show deals with issues of sexuality in adolescence. Wendla pic (with Melchior, because I can't find a good one of her by herself): [link] And more (Lea Michele): [link] , [link] It's a series!
