<strike>Holy crap, I'm back to square one, aka hand colouring. I feel pretty meh about this one, since I've been working with digital ... but such is life! Any hoo, I decided to expand my Disney-vision and tackle some Tim Burton heroines. So here's Emily from Corpse Bride.
*sigh* done with coloured pencils over the inked lines.</strike>
EDIT: Scratch that, reverse it; thank you.
So this ended up being my first attempt with Painter X. I don't have a mouse for my laptop, so this was all touchpad/finger point/whatever you want to call it. :S And yes, it was tres difficile. I prefer PhotoShop, personally.
I'm not a huge fan of Corpse Bride's storyline ... I thought it was too obvious, and was really hoping we'd get that dark twist, but alas, it remained wimpily moralistic. I do go for Victor/Emily. Anyway, while I thought Em was originally very lovely in rather a macabre manner, I wanted to see her stretched out in the "Princess Pretty" direction. Going without a source, I gave her big hair and violet eyes (I'm thinking of changing that the next time around, though). I changed the veil to cover the top of her head, instead of just going around the back, because I like the gauzy effect.
Character (c) Tim Burton and Co.
